Crypto Removes the Option to Pretend

In traditional systems, trust is implied.
In crypto, it’s enforced.

You can’t assume:
honesty
good intentions
competent operators

Everything has to be explicit:
rules
incentives
failure modes

That’s why crypto systems feel harsh.
They don’t forgive ambiguity.

There’s no “we’ll fix it later.”
The code is the promise.

Crypto doesn’t trust people.
It trusts what’s provable.
